BMI, Cholesterol and Love

Breakfast:

Not sure how this all is supposed to finally work out.  I stood on a scale at a Doctor's office and it took all the info it need to calculate my BMI.  I am a 26.  Over 30 is considered obese somewhere on the Internet.

Lucky for me I ran into something I Googled that led me to HuffPo Contributor, Dr. Mark Hyman.

There is a Cholesterol thing I need to watch and a Thyroid thing that I have been told to watch.  I guess we all get to watch it all.  It is ambiguous.  I have rarely drank pop or processed fruit juice in years.  Have not smoked for over 5 years (up til then I chain smoked 11/2 packs a day.)  No drinking.  I do have a sugar craving thing.  And now, I am glad to say, that the deal is closed.  I imagine that if the Doctors want to know what I ate in the future, they can look to it right here.  Or somewhere where it will eventually live.

Moderation of the Mind

There is the Church of the Mind

A place where meditation and melding come together

Moderation fails?

There is only Practice and Observation

"Love" Cemetery under I-5

It is on my way to and from
with bushes & trees that adorn the bi-way resting place

After a melting cone is purchased
I drive there quick

Sweeping away
cuttings left long past their life

A kitty and an old man
passed this way

While the traffic that jams
ears and breath

Elevated above tracks
roads and plots

The Gazebo's almost done
for now

In another 20 or so
others will observe

Another kitty and an old
man pass this way again.

At the End of The Fence

Right before she casually biked off and put the fat wad of cash into her fanny pack she was caressing, her words confirmed what I wanted to articulate for years.

"They just don't want to do anymore paperwork."

Today, I took a new tact.

In the last 5 years we have lived here, we have experienced and witnessed many "business transactions" and "creative driving skills".

Do they say, "Meet me in front of that really nice flower garden."

Or do they say, "Meet me in front of the end of the fence."

That "really nice flower garden is across the street from me.  The end of the fence is one house away from me.

Ouch! That hurts like I pinched my finger... maybe the middle one? (or how everyone knows they are right!)

Excited at the opportunity to have an intriguing "dialog" with my friend's Middleschool Kids... I may have flipped several people the bird in the process...

Wahhhhh! My feelings are hurt because some invisible person called me names and pooped on my ice cream! :)

Jesus' story happens everyday, all day long... That is the almost final word on that. But, alas I am a Heretic for puting it this way.

I was broken up with by 2 different job prospects yesterday...
And the other ones that are left are squeeky wheels getting the grease...
"Will Work For Yoga"
the sign said on the side of the Freeway offramp.
When I say I'm on the Health Plan Lottery Que for OHP,
People respond with,
"I don't play the lottery."
Then I say,
"It's the Dept. of Human Services way of giving out 25,000 spots
for over 150,000 people that don't make a living wage in this state."
There's never a response after that.
Usualy a blank face.

Review:

5 Stars

Thanks for the extremely user friendly tale of potluck woe with cut to the chase solution! You have given me hope for running into more blogs like yours that are useful, funny, relatable communication devices. The treatise on governmental politics was best written by Henry David Thoreau in, Civil Disobeidience. Even Ghandi and M.L. King Jr. thought so!

Hawthorne Area Diseased Tree Removal

Many trees in the Portland area have been removed this summer. I don't know if it's an extrodinary number.

There were "5"! removed on one block in Ladd's Addition on Lavender between Ladd and Tamerack. Something about the beetle infestation.

One bit of info that someone shared with me... There are many varieties that don't do well in our climate and altitude. This may be one of the reasons for rotting and illnesses that befall the city's tree population. Of course there is the Dutch Elm Disease and insect infestations also.
